Relocating mobile shelving inside NHS estate has a different rhythm to the commercial world. Patient flow, infection control and SBS framework rules all shape the project.
Compliance essentials
Your contractor must be able to demonstrate PUWER 98 competence, current SEIRS registration, IPAF cards for any working-at-height kit and DBS clearance for every operative entering wards or records areas. We carry all four as standard.
Infection control
Roller racking in healthcare often holds patient records or sterile supplies. Dust suppression, surface decontamination wipes and HEPA-filtered vacuums are part of every job — and we leave the floor zone wiped down before handing back.
Working around clinical activity
Most ward-side relocations are scheduled out-of-hours. We work closely with estates teams and matrons to plan the work in tightly defined windows, often 8pm–6am over a weekend.
Documentation
Every NHS job finishes with a PUWER certificate, RAMS file, photographic close-out report and signed waste-transfer notes. Estates teams keep this on file for CQC inspections.
