The reinstall is where the difference between a specialist and a removal firm becomes visible. Here is exactly what happens, in order, on every system we put back together.
1. Floor survey & levelling
A digital straight-edge confirms the destination floor meets FM2 flatness. Out-of-tolerance areas receive self-levelling compound before any tracks are laid.
2. Track laying
Tracks are aligned to the CAD layout, parallel to the building grid where possible. End-stops are bolted, expansion joints respected, sub-1mm cross-track tolerance verified.
3. Carriage seating
Carriages are lifted onto the tracks one at a time, tested for free running before the next is added. Bearings inspected during seating.
4. Bay assembly
Uprights, end panels and shelves rebuilt per the labelled sequence. Torque values match manufacturer spec; finger-trap guards re-fitted.
5. Anti-tip and brake testing
Anti-tip mechanism tested under simulated load; safety-lock proved on every bay; aisle-lock operation verified.
6. Hand-wheel calibration
Mechanical-assist systems have wheel ratios tested at empty and loaded states. Effort must remain within 4kg at the wheel rim under fully-loaded conditions.
7. PUWER inspection
Independent SEMA-approved inspector signs the system off. Certificate issued within five working days.
